Seized container of smuggled supplementary foods

Smuggled supplementary food was seized.

On 20/7/2017, at Phuoc Long ICD – Thu Duc, Customs Enforcement Unit collaborated with Saigon port area 4 Customs Branch to inspect an import container under the type of transshipment port and detect all goods in containers are supplementary foods, kitchen and bathroom products.

According to Customs Enforcement Unit, the shipment was imported to Cat Lai port and then transferred to ICD Phuoc Long Port. The information in the bill of lading shows this ship was imported by Vo Anh Import and Export Company (District 4, HCMC).

Tens of packages of supplementary food were camouflaged as chemicals.

According to the Customs declaration, imported goods are detergents, total value was over $US 40,000. However, the entire goods in the container were including over 450 bottles of supplementary food; 37 packs of spice use in food processing; 240 boxes of mashed potatoes; Tens of wash basins, shower, ...

Currently, the whole shipment is being requested for inspection and valuation for processing.
