Seize 13kg of dried opium from Laos to Vietnam

At 5:20 PM on 21st April 2017, while the competent force was doing their duty at Integrated Control Station of Na Meo International Border Gate, they discovered 2 women with the suspicious sign of transporting banned goods from Laos to Vietnam.

After checking their packages, the competent force detected a black plastic bag, 1 blue bag of the slough and 1 white bag of dried opium. The total weight was nearly 13kg. The above opium was covered under many bags of boiled bamboo shoot, fresh chili, and dried bark.

In the first step, the name of the subjects was Nang Sy (born in 1962) and Nang May (born in 1991). Both of them were Laotian, lived in Xom Pun mountain village, Muong Pun, Vieng Xay district, Hủa Phăn province – Laos. As known that, that dried opium was transporting from Laos to Vietnam for sale.

Currently, the subjects and exhibits have been transformed to competent authorities for handling in accordance with law.
