Achievement in anti-smuggling of Quang Binh Customs Department in the first days of the year

VCN – In the first days of 2024 and the peak time of anti-smuggling before, during and after the Giap Thin Lunar New Year, the Customs Enforcement Team (Quang Binh Customs Department) coordinated with other law enforcement forces to bust a case of illegal transportation of about 30,000 synthetic drug pills.

On January 22, the law enforcement forces including Customs Enforcement Team (Quang Binh Customs Department), Quang Binh Police, Quang Binh Border Guard received information on a passenger car moving from Quang Tri to the North and carrying a suspected sack of drugs.

After receiving the information, the enforcement forces closely monitored the travel schedule of the passenger car and the suspected goods on the vehicle.

At about 11:00 a.m. on January 22, the car stopped at a petroleum station in Ba Don town (Quang Binh province). After the car stopped, a young man got out of the car and stood on the side of the road. Then a garage staff transported a blue sack suspected of containing drugs and left it on the street. The man sit near the sack. The working group continued to monitor young man and suspected sack.

About 12 o'clock on the same day, someone drove a BMW car to the location of the young man and put the sack on the car. The working group continues to monitor the BMW car.

After loading the goods on the car, the driver of the BMW car drove it on Highway 12A and moved to Quang Hoa, Ba Don town. When the car arrived at the house of Ms. D.T.M.H (35, residing in Quang Hoa commune, Ba Don town), the suspects stopped the car. The two other suspects carried the sack into Ms. H's house.

After that, the two young suspects threw the blue sack and loaded a white sack on the car, then moved to D.A.D's house in Quang Hoa commune. After 12 o'clock on January 22, the suspects arrived at D's house and stopped on the side of the road to enter the house.

The working group took professional measures to check the suspects including: D.A.D (born in 1992, residing in Quang Hoa commune) - the driver of a BMW car; T.V.T (born in 1992, residing in Lao Bao town, Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province); T.T (born in 1999, residing in Lao Bao town, Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province) who are two people traveling in a BMW car.

Inspecting the BMW car, the working group detected a white sack with a bunch of bananas. The D.D.A admitted that he went with T.M.T to the petroleum station in Ba Don Town to pick up T.T, and the blue sack inside contained 5 yellow plastic bags of synthetic drugs. Then he transported the drugs to Ms. H.'s house (D.D.A's sister), to hide and then transported the sack containing the bunch of bananas to D's house.

The working group and the suspect went to Ms. H.'s house, and D. showed that the drugs were hidden in the washing machine room, on the second floor of the house. The working group inspected five yellow plastic bags and seized 29,800 pills of synthetic drugs.

D. said that T.T. brought this drug from Quang Tri and handed it over to him. The working group made a record to arrest D.A.D, T.V.T and T.T for trafficking drugs.

During the investigation, the authorities determined that this drug ring transported drugs from Lao Bao (Quang Tri) to Ba Don town (Quang Binh) for consumption with sophisticated tricks. Suspected are assigned specific tasks from purchasing, delivering, and dealing with the authorities.

The enforemcent authorities determined that in addition to the three suspects, this drug ring also involved C.N.D (born in 2006) and H.S.D (born in 1996) residing in Ba Don town; V.Q.M (born 1996), residing in Lao Bao town, Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri; L.H.N (born 1990), residing in Hue City, Thua Thien Hue province.

The case is investigated by the authorities.
