Prosecute individuals related to tree planting program causing loss of VND30 billion

VCN- The Investigation Police Department of the Ministry of Public Security (C03) has prosecuted individuals of the Department of Maintenance of Urban Technical Infrastructure Works, Hanoi Green Park One Member Limited Liability Company and related organizations for violations in the regulations on management and use of State assets, causing loss and waste worth VND30 billion, on Saturday.

Prosecute individuals related to tree planting program causing loss of VND30 billion

Based on results of the investigation, C03 determined Department of Maintenance of Urban Technical Infrastructure Works, Hanoi Green Park One Member Limited Liability Company, Vietnam Valuation and Financial Consultant Joint Stock Company and other individuals colluded to increase the trees’ value and modified the original estimate for illegal settlement.

In addition, the department identified some new and replaced trees were illegally imported by individuals from China to Vietnam.

The same day, C03 issued decisions to prosecute, search and arrest the accused, as follows:

Nguyen Xuan Hanh, General Director of Hanoi Green Park One Member Limited Liability Company.

Do Quang Tien, Director of the Plants, Flowers and Ornamental Enterprises of Hanoi Green Park One Member Limited Liability Company.

Do Khac Tu Anh, Deputy Head of Finance and Accounting Department, Department of Maintenance of Urban Technical Infrastructure Works.

Nguyen Thi Ngoc Lam, former appraiser of Vietnam Valuation and Financial Consultant Joint Stock Company

Nguyen Tuan Nghia, Director of Hoa Lac Green Company Limited and Development Company Limited for the People;

Kieu Thi Thuy, Accountant of Hoa Lac Green Company Limited and Development Company Limited for the People.

These accused were prosecuted for "violating regulations on management and use of state assets, causing loss and waste", as stipulated in Article 219 of the 2015 Penal Code.

In addition, C03 prosecutes arrested Hoang Dinh Van, Director of Hoang Anh Phat Company for "smuggling" as prescribed in Article 188 of the 2015 Penal Code.

The two cases are being investigated by the C03.
