Vehicles sharply decreased

Checkpoint km 15-Dan Tien Pier is located in Hai Tien commune, MongCai City, QuangNinh province, so there is ahigh volume of vehicles carrying goods at risk of smuggling, trade fraud and illegal transportation of goods. Therefore, all vehicles on the National Highway 18A from Mong Cai city inland are strictly controlled by interdisciplinary forces.

Competent forces have coordinated and arrested many cases of illegal transportation of drugs, weapons, support tools, firecrackers, alcohol, cigarettes, cosmetics, kid toys, wildlife products and non-originating goods or infringing intellectual property rights.

Through the observationof Customs News, the volume of vehicles crossing the checkpoint km 15-Dan Tien Pier is as less as current date.

“Previously, the volume of passenger cars crossing the checkpoint was up to 700-800 cars perday, but now it has reduced to 200-300 cars, many fixed-route cars have stopped operation and worked perfunctorily.” Deputy Head of the Check point km 15-Dan Tien Pier Nguyen Duc Hai said.

Hai added that, based on reality and the consumption needs of people, the checkpoint has taken operational measures to closely control the area, including focusing on targeted subjects. Arrange forces to closely control

Among violations discovered by the checkpoint in recent months, illegal transportation of goods infringing intellectual property, cigarettes, kid toys andmedical masks haveincurred. Notably, the force of the checkpoint has detected many illegal transportation cases of rhino horn.

On July 6, through the inspection of a passenger car with licence plate No. 29B-620.70 drivenby Pham Phi Hung (residing in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh), the competent force discovered a carton containing 850.6 grams of rhino horn, with a total value of VND 850 million.

Arranging officers to be on duty 24/7on the National Highway 18A, as well as patrol, supervise, prevent and strictly handle cases of illegal entry and illegal transportation of goods to ensure security, order and safety.

“In some targeted areas, arranging forces to patrol and control publicly; closely inspecting, monitoring and closely control people and means of transport crossing the checkpoint with suspicious signs, and vehicles showing signs of making more partitions to hide smuggled goods to promptly detect, arrest and strictly handle violations," Hai said.
