Preliminary assessment of Vietnam international merchandise trade performance in the first half of June, 2024

In the view of FDI traders, the value of exportation and importation from January to the first half of June of 2024 reached USD 227.06 billion, up by 13.7% as compared to the same period of last year.

Export:

When compared with the second half of May-2024, export of first half of June decreased by 10.4%, mostly as a result of the climb-down registered in telephones, mobile phones and parts thereof (down by 18.1% - USD 449 million equally); machine, equipment, tools and instruments (down by 12.7% - USD 297 million equally); irons and steels (down by 45.2% - USD 239 million); means of transport (down by 21.2% - USD 144 million equally)…

Import:

In the first half of June 2024, import increased by 1.5% when compared with the second half of May, mainly reflecting the evolution of computer, electrical products (up by 14.1% - USD 560 million); animal fodders and animal fodder materials (up by 37.1% - USD 67 million).
