No restricted zone in the fight against smuggling and trade fraud

The document of the Steering Committee 389 of the Ministry of Finance, clearly states that following the direction of Deputy Prime Minister Tran Luu Quang, Head of the National Steering Committee 389, to proactively detect, prevent and handle acts of smuggling, trade fraud, and goods quickly and effectively, the Steering Committee 389 of the Ministry of Finance will require units to continue to carry out tasks and solutions mentioned in Resolution No. 41 of the Government on enhancing the fight against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeiting in the new situation.

Focusing on strictly following the Directives and Resolutions of the Party and laws of the State to fight, prevent and push back the deterioration of political ideology, morality, and lifestyle; determining that the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods is an important and regular political task of the unit, and resolutely repelling smuggling and illegal transportation of goods across the border, with the spirit of "no restricted zone, no exception in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeits."

Highlighting and attaching responsibilities of heads of all levels in performing assigned functions, tasks, and powers.

The heads of the units are assigned to grasp and direct their civil servants, public employees, and employees to firmly and fully comply with legal regulations and professional processes; take measures to prevent and combat corruption and negativity in the units in charge of the fight against smuggling and trade fraud; and strictly handle law-breaking groups and individuals.

The Steering Committee, 389 of the Ministry of Finance, assigned the General Department of Customs, the General Department of Taxation, and the Inspectorate Department of the Ministry of Finance to implement professional measures to detect, prevent and handle acts of smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeiting in a timely fashion;

To strengthen the work of grasping the situation, assessing the situation, and identifying outstanding and complex issues in terms of suspects, routes, geographical areas, fields, and key products (especially those affecting consumers' health) on smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeit goods to promptly advise, propose, develop plans and organize inspection, examination, investigation, and verification.

To mobilize forces and vehicles and take measures to arrest masterminds, gangs, and complex clusters for deterrence and prevention.

To enhance the training of knowledge and application of science and technology in the fight against smuggling, trade fraud, and counterfeits; boost coordination, connection, and information sharing following the new situation; widely publicize phone numbers, e-mails, hotlines of the National Steering Committee 389, the Steering Committee 389 of the Ministry of Finance, competent authorities to collect and handle information reported from the public following the Regulation on receipt and handling of information on smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeits of the National Steering Committee 389.
