Many smuggled medical masks seized at An Giang border gate

Smuggled masks seized by Tinh Bien Border Gate Customs Branch.

According to Tinh Bien Customs Branch, on March 3, while carrying out customs clearance for goods of border residents at Tinh Bien International Border Gate Check Point, Customs officers detected Sam Nam, born in 1995, Cambodian nationality carrying goods with suspicious signs and worked with the Border Guard Station of Tinh Bien International Border Gate for inspection.

As a result, 300 medical mask boxes (15,000 medical masks) hidden inside carton boxes carried on motorcycles were detected.

This item must be granted export permit by the Ministry of Health.

On the same day, the working group also detected 5,000 medical masks at Xuan Hoa, Tinh Bien town, Tinh Bien district that were to be illegally exported to Cambodia.

In the last days, the smuggling masks at An Giang Border Gate has been quite complex. Vinh Xuong Border Gate Customs Branch also detected two cases of smuggling medical masks, with quantity of 41,000 units
