Through statistics, as of October 27, 2023, the country's market surveillance force has inspected 8,549 cases (according to Plan 888), of which, 8,224 cases of violation have been handled with a fine of more than VND83.5 billion and a value of infringing goods of more than VND110 billion.

Simultaneously launching troops to control the market

In Hanoi, on December 6, under the supervision of the Market Surveillance Directorate, five market surveillance teams under Hanoi Market Surveillance Department unexpectedly inspect many business locations in four districts: Hoan Kiem, Hai Ba Trung, Gia Lam, Hoai Duc.

In the central area of Hoan Kiem district, the Market Surveillance Team No. 2 confiscated nearly 400 fake clothes of famous brands The North Face, Nike, Aiddas, LV, Gucci in Hang Bac ward, Hang Dao ward and Hang Ma ward. .

Through statistics, as of October 27, 2023, the country's market management force has inspected 8,549 cases (according to Plan 888), of which, 8,224 cases of violation have been handled, and fines for administrative violations have been handled. is more than 83.5 billion VND; The value of infringing goods is more than 110 billion VND.

At the same time, the Market Surveillance Team No. 5 inspected business households selling eyeglasses, shoes, and phone accessories on Bach Mai, Tran Khat Chan and Kim Nguu streets, seizing over 400 fake footwear products and eyeglasses.

At Ninh Hiep market, Gia Lam district - one of the famous locations for counterfeit goods and goods infringing intellectual property in the North distributed nationwide, the Market Surveillance Teams No. 8 and No. 14 confiscated nearly 2,000 fake clothes and shoes bearing the brands Prada, LV, Gucci, Adidas.

Similarly, in Hoai Duc district, inspecting shops and households selling shoes and clothes, the Market Management Team No. 24 also confiscated hundreds of fake footwear products of brands registered for protection in Vietnam.

Thus, with the simultaneous inspection, the Market Surveillance force seized nearly 2,900 products, mainly counterfeit goods at 15 business establishments in Hanoi.

In Lang Son, under the direction of the Market Surveillance Directorate, the Lang Son Market Surveillance Department directed Market Management Teams No. 1,2,3,7 to inspect and review business activities in Lang Son city, Loc Binh district, Cao Loc district, Van Lang district.

Accordingly, out of 81 inspected business establishments, the Lang Son Market Management force sanctioned 62 violating establishments with an administrative fine of nearly VND360 million and a value of infringing goods of over VND330 million.

No restricted zones

With the goal of no "restricted zones", the Market Surveillance Directorate drastically issued Plan 888 on fighting against counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin, and goods infringing intellectual property, in the 2021- 2025 period in all 63 provinces and cities.

After nearly three years of implementation, Plan 888 has greatly contributed to the overall results of the fight against counterfeit goods, smuggling, and trade fraud.

According to Mr. Nguyen Duc Le, Deputy Director of the Department of Market Management Operations, during the implementation of Plan 888, the situation of counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin, and infringement of intellectual property rights has complex developments with many increasingly professional, sophisticated and ever-changing methods and tricks.

Plan 888 was issued to contribute to building a healthy business environment, protecting consumer rights, protecting legitimate businesses, protecting trademarks protected by the State and avoiding violations of rules and international conventions that Vietnam has signed.

The Department of Operations will continue to carry out many similar programs as in Hanoi and Lang Son in the remaining key provinces and cities, strictly and thoroughly punishing cases of public display and sale of counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin and goods infringing intellectual property rights.

At the same time, in 2024, the market surveillance force will promote sanctioning of violations in e-commerce activities.
