Lao Cai Customs sees a triple-digit surge in export-import turnover

According to the Lao Cai Customs Department, from the beginning of the year to October 24th, the department has processed a total of 75,453 customs declarations, representing a 49.6% increase compared to the same period in 2023 (including 29,711 export declarations and 45,742 import declarations).
The total import-export turnover facilitated by the department reached US$2.322 billion, a remarkable 102% surge compared to the same period in 2023.
Specifically, exports amounted to US$1.683 billion, increasing by 125.7%, while imports reached US$639 million, showing a growth of 58.3%.
Key export commodities include yellow phosphorus, durian, dragon fruit, bananas, cassava, veneer, coffee, and footwear.
Major import items include various fruits and vegetables, coking coal, chemicals, fertilizers, plastic products, iron and steel products, machinery and equipment, and confectionery.
In terms of state revenue, the department collected VND 995.5 billion, a 36.5% increase compared to the same period in 2023, reaching 94.8% of the target assigned by the Ministry of Finance and the General Department of Vietnam Customs.
