Lang Son: Continue to seize smuggled herb materials

At 1:30 AM, on August 30, while conducting a patrol and control at the trail area near landmarks 1241 and 1245, in Tu Mi commune, Loc Binh district, Chi Ma border station, discovered many subjects sneakily receiving packages that had been transported across the fence from the other side of the border.

However, when detecting competent forces, the subjects took advantage of the night to flee into the forest and left 22 sacks full of goods at the scene. More seriously, on the run, the group of people spread nails on the road to prevent the competent forces' pursuit.

Immediately, the force brought the goods to the headquarters and conducted a physical inspection. The results showed that the goods were Chinese herb materials with many types such as: herba cistanches, chinese angelica root, Coptis teeta wall and mongolian milkvetch weighing more than 500 kg of all kinds.

Chi Ma Border Station has completed the dossier and investigated to handle the case in accordance with regulations.

Previously, on the afternoon of August 24, at Km20, road 250 in the area of ​​Suoi Ma B village, Huu Kien commune, Chi Lang district, Chi Lang district police stopped a passenger car while it was transporting 51 sacks of 12 types of Chinese medicine with a total weight of 1,483 kg without invoices or proof of origin.

Thus, in the last few days of August, Lang Son province forces discovered and seized nearly 2 tonnes of all kinds with estimated value of nearly VND 200 million.

Recently, the smuggling of herbal materials from China into Vietnam through the border area has increased. The main tricks of the smugglers were to find a remote area far from the border gate, take advantage of the night to bring smuggled goods from the other side of the border across the fence into Vietnam, then hire border residents to transport goods inland then bring it to the provinces for consumption.
