Drugs were hidden inside postal items seized by HCM City Customs

According to HCM City Customs Department, in the early days of July 2019, through the inspection of imported postal times, HCM City Express Customs Branch detected violations and seized the .narcotics

Specifically, on July 2, this unit discovered one parcel with the weight of 3kg sent from France to Vietnam containing a substance suspected be drugs. Then, on July 4, this unit discovered one more parcel weight of 7.17 kg sent from Germany to Vietnam and a parcel weighting of 5,530 kg sent from France to Vietnam containing substances suspected to be drugs.

Previously, by implementing phase 1 of the ME319 project, on 25 and 26 June 2019, the Anti-drug Enforcement Unit - HCM City Customs Department chaired and coordinated with the HCM City Express Customs Branch, Unit 6 - Anti-smuggling and Investigation Department - General Department of Vietnam Customs and PC04-Ho Chi Minh City Police to inspect seven imported parcels. As an inspection result, over 14kg of synthetic drugs were seized, including MDMA (ecstasy) and Ketamine.

The above seven parcels are sent from France, Germany and Thailand to Ho Chi Minh City through international postal services and express delivery, camouflaged in the form of personal non-commercial gifts.
