On August 27, at Green Port (HaiPhong,), the HaiPhong Port Customs Branch of Zone 3 (HaiPhong Customs Department) chaired and coordinated with the HaiPhong Customs Enforcement Team to inspect a shipment in three containers under bill of lading number HPH1908003,transported on the KESTREL vessel.

The shipment was declared by AnhPhap Viet One Member Company Limited (address: Diem Ky commune, Diem Chau district, Nghe An province, Tax code: 2901072155) under declaration No. 102835623700/A11 dated August 26, 2019 at HaiPhong Port Customs Branch of Zone 3.

The shipment was declared asheat-treated sawn NarraPadauk. But through physical inspection ofthe three containers, besidesheat-treated sawn NarraPadauk according to the declaration, Customs officers detected TechicaiSitan and Rose-Wood.

The company arranged sawn NarraPadauk Timber around the container and the TechicaiSitan Timber and Rose-Wood were arranged in the middle or the bottom of the container to avoid detection by competent forces.

AnhPhap Viet One Member Company Limited illegally imported goods infringing the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES) issued in Circular 04/ 2017/TT-BNNPTNT dated February 24, 2017 of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Currently, HaiPhong Customs Department has collected evidence, documents and arehandling the case in accordance with the law.
