VCN- The leader of the General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC) has directed Dien Bien Customs Department to review, report and work with the investigation agency to clarify and handle violators (if any) related to the case of 13 tons of traditional medicine materials.

Based on information in thepress, the Market Surveillance Team No.1 under Tuyen Quang Market Surveillance Department inspected a car with license plate No.22C-064.37 carrying traditional medicine materials without documents and vouchers.
Initially, the owner of the shipment, Dang Thi Duyen (residing in Hamlet 10, Lang Quan commune, Yen Son district, Tuyen Quang province), admitted that she hired Mr. Tran Viet Hung to transport all these materials.
Then, Duyen voluntarily handed over the rest of the materials stored at her house. The total amountof traditional medicine materials totaledover 13 tons.
Some materials are contained in Chinese packages.
Duyen claimed that she imported them from China via Ma Lu Thang border gate (Lai Chau) for consumption with the total value of more than VND2.7 billion.
Tuyen Quang Market Surveillance Department has sent a written request to the investigation police agency of Tuyen Quang Police to receive the case for investigation.
Regarding the above case, following the direction of the GDVC’s leaders, the GDVC’s Office has requested the Dien Bien Customs Department to review, report, and coordinate with the investigating agency to clarify and handle violators (if any).
According to Customs Newspaper, Dien Bien Customs Department has set up a working group to verify the information raised by the press.
