The key point of this decision is that the Anti-smuggling investigation Department will establish the Customs criminal investigation Team.

Talking to Customs News reporter on 2^st September, Hoang Minh Tuan, Head of Administration, Finance and Organisation (Anti-Smuggling Investigation Department) said, the functions and tasks of criminal investigation customs forces have been specified in the previous related legal documents. However, these tasks were scattered in some professional teams of the Anti-Smuggling Investigation Department. But with the establishment of the Customs criminal investigation Team, the criminal cases handled by the Anti-Smuggling Investigation Department will be assigned directly to this Team.

In addition to the tasks of investigation and handling criminal cases in the area of ​​Customs, the Customs criminal investigation Team also has the task of advising and assisting the leaders of the Anti-Smuggling Investigation Department, leaders of General Department of Vietnam Customs to make current inspection, supervision, guidance on the handling of criminal cases in the field of Customs in local Customs departments.

According to Hoang Minh Tuan, the establishment of the Customs criminal investigation Team is expected to further enhance the effective and efficient handling of criminal cases in the field of Customs.
