Containers of used cars were discovered at Cai Mep port

According to Cai Mep Customs Branch, the 3 containers above were imported by Thanh Nien MC, a one member limited company (address: Bac Son commune, Mong Cai city, Quang Ninh province) at Cai Mep Thi Vai port in 10/3/2018. According to the declaration, the goods in the three containers were new car tires.

Through information collection and collating on the E-manifest system, there were many doubts. The Branch sent invitations to the freight owner to come for conducting a physical inspection of the 3 containers, however, this company did not come.

Used car was in broken condition

On 16/4, with the participation of the competent forces and the witness of the shipping line, Cai Mep Customs Branch conducted a physical inspection of the 3 imported containers.

Through inspection, they found they contained 5 used Toyota 7 seat cars, which were in the list of prohibited import goods. Currently, Cai Mep Customs Branch is carrying out procedures for verification in order to identify specific information about the above cars for handling in accordance with the law.
