Declaring as instant noodles but exporting face masks illegally

At 7:00AM on March 9, in the area of Ha Tien Border Gate, Ha Tien Customs Branch worked with Ha Tien Border Post to inspect a vehicle transporting the cargo of Le Van Thanh (born in 1971, living at My Duc Ward, Ha Tien City, Kien Giang Province).

The force discovered Thanh had two packages on his motorbike. He declared he was transporting instant noodles to Cambodia for earning profit. However, the forces conducted a physical inspection for the above shipment and detected 4,700 surgical masks of the type with four layers without legal documents to prove the origin.
Thanh claimed he was a motorbike taxi driver and was hired to transport goods for a Vietnamese person in Cambodia. He did not know what the goods were until they were detected.

Ha Tien Customs Branch made a record of administrative violations and seized the exhibits and vehicle for further verification and handling.
On March 3, Ha Tien Customs Branch and Ha Tien Border Post also coordinated to seize 9,700 smuggled face masks in Ha Tien border area.
