VCN - One of the biggest drug cases in 2020 has been handled by the Northern Anti-smuggling Enforcement Unit - Unit 5 (Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department, General Department of Vietnam Customs).

On July 8, talking with a reporter, the leader of the Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department said that implementing the struggle for Special Project DT 4.20 established by Unit 5, at 11:10 pm on July 7, at Km103, National Highway 12 which crossed Tin Toc village, Muong Tung commune, Muong Cha district, Dien Bien province (from Muong Te to Muong Lay town), the competent forces detected and closed the case.

Specifically, Unit 5 chaired and coordinated with C04 (Ministry of Public Security), PC04 Division (Dien Bien Provincial Police), Muong Lay Town Police (Dien Bien Province) and Anti-Drug Enforcement Team (Dien Bien Customs Department) to arrest Thao A Da (born January 1, 1994 and residing in Chuyen Gia 2 village, Nam Ke commune, Muong Nhe district, Dien Bien province), confiscating 54 packages of heroin and some other related items.

The case is being investigated, verified and handled as prescribed.
