Customs continues to issue a dispatch guiding procedures for glutinous rice exports

According to exported glutinous rice shipments (including shipments of sticky paddy rice, glutinous riceand glutinous broken rice) that are classified into the Red channel, municipal and provincial customs departments will not conduct a physical inspection and will base on the Certificate of Phytosanitary issued bythe quarantine authority or the Certificate of Fumigation issued by competent agencies, including identifying the type of rice for customs clearance.
To avoid fraud, the GDVC requests municipal and provincial customs departmentsto apply specialized measures to detect and handle promptly.
The GDVC’s instruction follows Dispatch 2571/TCHQ-GSQL dated April 22 guiding the registration of glutinous rice export declarations; and agreeing the basis of determining glutinous rice with intersectional inspection teams (including representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Ministry of Industry and Trade and the Ministry of Public Security) at the working session with the Ho Chi Minh City Customs Departmenton April 21, 2020.
Earlier, in Dispatch 2571/TCHQ-GSQL dated April 22, the GDVC said that it had set up instructions on the VNACCS/VCIS System for enterprises to register customs declarations for exported glutinous shipments (including sticky paddy rice, glutinous riceand glutinous broken rice) from 0:00 on April 23, 2020.
