According to Lao Cai province police, previously, officers discovered a drug line smugged from aboard to Lao Cai and then transported to a third country for consumption through the area of Pha Long ward, Muong Khuong district (Lao Cai).

After identifying the lead suspects, the force discovered that Vang Lien Hoa (born in 1998, residing in Pac Bo village, Ban Lau commune, Muong Khuong district) was an important link with foreign people for smuggling drugs.

On September 30, the Board of Specialised Project formed five reconnaissance teams, of which three teams were responsible for blocking routes in Muong Khuong district, two reconnaissance teams in charge of arresting suspects.

In particular, on the night of September 30, Lao Cai province had heavy rain, the Board of Specialised Project indicated that the suspects would take advantage of the thunderstorm to commit criminal acts, so the Board directed the teams to closely follow the assigned area as planned.

At 7:50am on October 1, the suspects driving a pickup truck entered the area with license plate No. 24C: 062.07, the officers approached the truck, and successfully arrested Vang Lien Hoa seizing 250,000 synthetic narcotics.

Notably, according to police authorities, this was the largest case of drug seizure in Lao Cai.

At the investigation police agency, Vang Lien Hoa confessed that about two years ago, Hoa met a man named Pao on a trip in Hekou, Yunnan, China.

About five days ago, Pao phoned Hoa and proposed to hire Hoa to transport drugs from Na Doc village, Ban Lau commune to Pha Long commune, Muong Khuong district, with a wage of VND100 million. When arriving in Pha Long commune, there would be a consignee and salary.

At this time, Pao gave Hoa two blue backpacks, containing drugs divided into many small rectangular boxes. Hoa took the drugs to the back of the truck and left.

In the process of moving, Hoa was very sly, he often stopped to rest to observe his surroundings without going straight to Pha Long. On the morning of October 1, when moving to the gate area of Ma Tuyen residential group, Muong Khuong town, the suspect was arrested by competent forces and all exhibits were seized as mentioned above.
