Checking 185 enterprises operating temporary import and re-export with signs of risk

According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, post-clearance audit forces collect information to serve a number of specialised topics such as inspection for enterprises with signs of risks of fraud, origin counterfeiting, illegal transmission; post-clearance audit for exported minerals, steel or aluminum and value of shaped aluminum; value of taxable exported goods; temporary import and re-export and transit.
Regarding temporary import and re-export, initially, Customs authorities reviewed 185 import-export enterprises operating temporary import and re-export showing signs of risk. They are conducting in-depth analysis to select and put onto a list and will develop a plan of conducting post-clearance audit.
The Customs authority is also continuing to complete the project of upgrading STQ01 System; assessing risk in import and export activities of processing and export production to complete the scheme on "Renovation the method of post-clearance audit for export-import activities in the form of processing and export production".
Regarding the results of the post-clearance audit, in May, the sector conducted 85 cases, including 22 cases at customs declarants' offices and 63 inspections at the headquarters of Customs authorities.
The total amount of tax assessed and sanctioned for administrative violations was VND 38.6 billion, which was collected into the State revenue as VND 64.7 billion (including revenue from the previous inspection results).
In the first five months of the year, the whole sector has conducted 451 inspections, including 153 cases at customs declarants' offices and 298 cases at the headquarters of Customs authorities.
The total amount of tax and sanctions for administrative violations was VND 649.2 billion, which was collected into the State budget as VND 644.3 billion.
For authorised economic operators, the total number of accredited businesses is 70 enterprises, already extending the priority regime to five enterprises in the list of businesses for extension in 2020.
