From the beginning to the end of June of 2021, Bac Ninh Customs Branch has processed 123,7459 declarations, up 10%; turnover hit US$7.79 billion, an increase of 1% year-on-year.

The branch’s revenue earned more than VND1,381 billion or 52.49% of the target, up by 17% compared to the previous year.

In middle of May, Bac Ninh Customs Branch registered five officials positive for Covid-19 and 13 cases of F1, and 16 cases F2 and 11 cases of F3. All cases were quarantined as required by health authorities.

The branch disinfected all the working area and implemented the 5K message.

The branch assigned more officials to ensure smooth customs clearance in accordance with Covid-19 prevention and control measures.

Notably, most of F2 cases voluntarily stayed at the branch’s headquarters to both ensure their performance and prevent the pandemic. Therefore, despite being greatly affected by the Covid-19 pandemic, the branch still performs effectively.

Deputy Manager of Bac Ninh Customs Branch, Luong Tien Dung said that all the branch’s operation has gradually stabilised after more than a month of Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control.

Currently, five cases have been discharged from the hospital and quarantined at their home.

The branch has also implemented a rotational and distance work regime. It has processed about 1,000 declarations, Dung said.

It has strengthened administrative reform at all operational stages and units to enhance work efficiency and apply modern equipment and management software, contributing to customs modernisation.

The customs modernisation and trade facilitation have been also implemented by the branch, shortening customs clearance time for enterprises amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Customs clearance processed within the day

From the beginning of the year to now, 350 firms have gone through customs clearance at Bac Ninh Customs Branch.

To resolve difficulties for enterprises, the branch has boosted online working instead of direct contact.

During the outbreak of the disease, the number of declarations of enterprises reduced from 200-300 declarations to 100 declarations per month. The branch still processed procedures within the same day and instructed problems related to HS code for enterprises via the hotline, Head of Import and Export Department of Mobase Vietnam Co.,Ltd said.

Some workers in affected areas could not return to work. However, the firm rearranged the production line to ensure the signed orders.

“Currently, about 400 declarations are registered at Bac Ninh Customs Branch. Thanks to support from Customs, the company’s operation has gone smoothly, especially during the outbreak of the pandemic,” Vinh said.
