The case will not be delayed

Responding to reporters about the initial inspection results for Asanzo Group Joint Stock Company, Chief of the Standing Office of the Steering Committee 389 said that the Committee assigned competent forces including the Ministry of Public Security, Ministry of Finance (General Department of Customs, General Department of Taxation), Ministry of Science and Technology to focus on clarifying and determining the acts of Asanzo.

Currently the competent forces are synthesizing, after August 30, 2019, when the results are available, the Standing Office will publicize them to press agencies.

He confirmed that the case was being directed to be drastically implemented and would not be delayed.

Concerning the common problem of counterfeit goods, goods of unknown origin but labelled "Made in Vietnam", The said the National Steering Committee 389 had issued a plan to strengthen prevention and combat smuggling, production and trading of counterfeit goods of Vietnamese origin, and requested the Steering Committees of 63 provinces and cities to focus on reviewing and reporting to it.

At the press conference, representatives of the competent forces said that the prevention and handling of violations related to foreign goods forging Vietnamese origin was being strengthened.

Strengthening prevention and combat against smuggling and counterfeit goods in the electronic environment

Concerning the results of combat against smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods in the first six months of the year, competent forces discovered, seized, handled 85,892 cases, and collected over VND 6,165 billion VND.

Notably, the number of cases and offenders increased sharply over the same period in 2018. Specifically, 1,311 cases were dealt with; up more than 47% and 1,546 offenders, up by more than 56%.

The serious handling of violations with criminal elements is an important measure to increase deterrence and contribute to the effective prevention of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.

Regarding the tasks in the last months of the year, the representative of the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee of 389 said the committee would continue to improve and issue some key plans and regulations.

Notably, the plan to strengthen combat against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods in e-commerce activities; plan to fight against smuggling, production and trading of counterfeit and poor-quality supplementary foods.

The competent forces will also continue to promote inspection of pubic duty performance, clearly define the responsibilities of the heads by localities and field in their charge; change and propose to replace heads who do not meet the task requirements.

At the same time, the National Steering Committee 389 will direct the authorities to strictly deal with violations of smuggling, trade fraud and counterfeit goods.
