As of August 1, 2016, some Customs departments will be re-named

Implementing the Decision No.65/2015/QD-TTg, the Ministry of Finance has issued the Decision on establishing Customs Risk Management Department, Finance and Logistics Department, the Customs Qualified Test Department, Audit-Inspectorate Department.

The Customs Department is currently conducting the necessary procedures to deploy officially, which will promulgate the decision to change the job titles of the units’s leaders as above. The Decision is expected to come into effect from August 1,2016.

The implementation of Decision No.65/2015/QD-TTg, means the Minister of Finance has signed a total of 15 decisions defining the functions, tasks, powers and organizational structure for the 15 subordinate departments and authorities of the General Department of Customs (Personnel and Organization Department, Audit-Inspectorate Department, International Cooperation Department, Legal Department, General Department Office, Finance and Logistics Department, Customs IT and Statistics Department, Customs Research Institute, Anti-smuggling and Investigation Department, Post Clearance Audit Department, Import-Export Duty Department, Customs Control and Supervision Department, Customs Qualified Test Department, Customs Risk Management Department, Vietnam Customs school).

The organizational structure has resulted in: Reduction of 13 divisions and same level of 4 departments (Personnel and Organization Department, Legal Department, Audit-Inspectorate Department) and Vietnam Customs school.

It also will result in increasing 13 divisions and same level of some units: Anti-smuggling and Investigation Department (increase 3 units), Post Clearance Audit Department (increase 1 unit), Finance and Logistics Department (increase 1 unit), Customs Risk Management Department ((increase 2 units), Customs Qualified Test Department (increase 3 units), Customs IT and Statistics Department (increase 1 unit), Customs Control and Supervision Department (increase 3 units).
