Applying coercive measures for many businesses owing billions of tax

According to HCM City Customs Department, Investment Customs Branch has issued a decision on applying coercive measures by stopping implementing customs procedures for imported and exported goods of New Century Joint Stock Company (Address: 150 Pasteur #6 P-661-665, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City, tax code: 0302538098) to execute the content of Official Dispatch No. 12376/CTTPHCM-QLN dated September 28, 2022, of the HCM City Tax Department.
The reason is that New Century Joint Stock Company has owed tax debt more than 90 days from the prescribed payment deadline's expiration date. The coercive amount is over VND 6.4 billion.
Similarly, Investment Customs Branch has issued a decision on applying coercive measures by stopping implementing customs procedures for imported and exported goods of Thang Long Trading and Service Co., Ltd. (Address: 557 Nguyen Tri Phuong, Ward 14, District 10, HCMC, tax code: 0301383162).
According to the notice of the HCM City Tax Department, Thang Long Trading and Service Co., Ltd owes over VND 5.9 billion in tax which is overdue 90 days from the deadline for payment as prescribed.
Both the two coercive decisions against the two enterprises are effective for one year from October 12, 2022. The decision on enforcement ceases to be effective from the time the tax debt is fully paid into the state budget.
