VCN- Nearly 6kg of drugs suspected of being cannabis hidden inside gift shipments has been seized by Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch under HCM City Customs Department in accordance with relevant competent forces on March 15, according to the Tan Son Nhat International Airport Customs Branch.

6 kg of suspected drugs seized by Tan Son Nhat Customs Branch

Cannabis was hidden in three gift shipments transported from the US to Vietnam.

Accordingly, through information collection, Customs implemented risk assessment for shipments transported from the US to Vietnam for N.D.T residing in Bien Hoa Dong Nai.

Drugs were hidden inside food cans.

The Customs conducted a physical inspection ofthree shipments transported under the non-commercial regime in the form of gifts on flight number JL0579/11 from Los Angeles transited via Narita (Japan) to Vietnam.

Gift shipments containing suspected drugs were sent from the US to Vietnam.

The inspection result showed that all three shipments contained drugs (suspected of being cannabis), with a total weight of 5.84kg.

Currently, Customs has seized the infringing goods and is working with other competent forces to handle the case.
