Upgrading IT applications to accelerate PIT refund
PIT refund work is always closely managed by the Tax sector |
According to information from the General Department of Taxation, some cases of delay in processing PIT refund are due to the following basic reasons: taxpayers submit final settlement to the wrong tax agency; understatement of taxable income; wrong declaration of dependent deduction period or declaration of dependents who are not eligible for deduction.
Besides, the reasons also come from under-declaring deductible compulsory insurance amounts; incorrectly declaring the deducted/ temporarily paid tax during the year compared to data of the tax agency or providing missing documents for tax deduction/payment.
The General Department of Taxation will continue to direct tax agencies to actively implement support communication programs and plans in many forms to support and answer problems for taxpayers to understand policies and implement tax settlement according to regulations.
In addition, the Tax sector has been continuing to promote the upgrading of information technology applications (eTax Mobile, Icanhan) to support taxpayers in determining where to submit PIT tax refund applications and look up full information to serve tax declaration and finalization (information on sources of income, deducted tax amount, information on registration of family deductions for dependents, social insurance payments).
Citing data from the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department, the Ministry of Finance said that in the first six months of 2024, the Ho Chi Minh City Tax Department received a total of 174,478 applications for PIT refund, an increase of 38% year-on-year or 48,255 applications
As a result, 106,544 applications were processed, up more than 8% year-on-year (the same period in 2023 it was 98,561 applications); 26,094 applications are being processed.
