Vietnam hopes to have a breakthrough in investment from Japanese ODA capital

VCN - On June 26, Minister Ho Duc Phoc had a meeting with Mr. Ito Naoki, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam. Speaking at the reception, the Minister said that Vietnam wanted to have a breakthrough in the process of investing ODA capital, focusing on large national projects.

Minister Ho Duc Phuc congratulated Ambassador Ito Naoki on his appointment as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam and wished him a successful term of office, contributing to the increasingly close development of relations between the two countries.

Minister Phuc said that the finance ministries of the two countries have closely and effectively coordinated in such fields as ODA, tax, customs, securities and insurance. Vietnam highly appreciates Japan's contributions to supporting Vietnam through ODA grants.

Emphasizing that ODA-funded projects from Japan are very effective, helping Vietnam build modern infrastructure and contribute to socio-economic development, the Minister said that Vietnam wanted a breakthrough in the process of investing ODA capital, focusing on large national projects, creating conditions for businesses to develop further, thereby bringing development to the country.

At the meeting, the Minister also proposed that, with the experience in diplomatic work and the Ambassador's understanding of Vietnam, in the spirit of close cooperation, the Japanese government and the Ambassador continue to support Vietnam in all fields.

In his remarks at the meeting, Ambassador Ito Naoki said that 2023 was an important and memorable milestone in bilateral cooperation relations as the two countries have upgraded relations to "Comprehensive Strategic Partnership for Peace and Prosperity in Asia and the World". The Ambassador expressed his desire to continue to closely cooperate with the Vietnamese Ministry of Finance to further strengthen the traditional Vietnam-Japan relationship.

The Ambassador emphasized that in the coming time, Japan will further strengthen cooperation with Vietnam through ODA so that ODA capital can become vibrant again. Affirming the important role of ODA projects because through ODA projects, new technologies from Japan can be easily transferred to Vietnam, the Ambassador also expressed his hope that the two sides will continue to cooperate and support each other to build new projects. bring greater efficiency and meaning.

At the meeting, Minister Ho Duc Phuc gave specific answers to the bottlenecks that need to be resolved in the implementation of the projects to accelerate progress. The Minister also affirmed that he will actively coordinate with the Japanese side and urge relevant ministries and agencies to quickly, smoothly and effectively implement the projects.
