Up to 8kg of opium, four bricks of heroin, 6,000 tablets of synthetic narcotics seized

VCN – On June 14, the leader of the Anti-drug Enforcement Unit – Dien Bien Customs Department confirmed that the unit has seized two cases of illegal transport of 8kg of opium, four bricks of heroin and 6,000 tablets of synthetic narcotics in the Ma River area, Son La province.

On June 14, at Cat village, Muong Hung commune, Ma River district, Ma River district police chaired and coordinated with PC04 Division, Son La Provincial Police, Muong Cai Border Post, Anti-drug Enforcement Team (Dien Bien Customs Department) to successfully close the 1313M project, caught Ho A Dong (born in 2001 and living in Bua Hin village, Muong Hung) due to illegal transport of drugs.

Competent authorities seized 26 brown packages, along with many related exhibits.

Through the struggle, Ho A Dong confessed that the brown packages were opium, weighing 8kg.

On the same day, at Pa No village, Chieng Cang commune, Song Ma district, Son La province, PC04 Division, Son La province police coordinated with the Anti-Drugs Enforcement Team, Dien Bien Customs Department; Song Ma District Police; the Anti-Drugs Enforcement Unit (Unit 5, Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department, General Department of Vietnam Customs) to arrest Vang A Cong while he was transporting four bricks of heroin, weighing about 1,400 grams, and 6,000 tablets of synthetic narcotics.

In the above two cases, case dossiers, subjects and exhibits were handed over to the Investigation Police Agency, Son La Province Police for further investigation.
