Unit 1 of Anti-Smuggling and Investigation Department seize 214 cases of violation

At a presentation at the Party cell Congress of Unit 1 (term of 2022-2025) on the morning of August 9, the leader of Unit 1 said that in the period 2020 to July 2022 (the implementation period of the Congress Resolution for the term 2020- 2022), the unit always focuses on basic investigation, which regularly receives the concern of leaders, so the unit successfully completed the assigned targets, gradually improving the quality and effectiveness associated with the results of the detection and combating to seize and manage the management area.

This means they effectively deployed professional measures to detect, prevent and fight the arrest and handle acts of smuggling and illegally transporting goods across borders.

The unit regularly grasps and monitors the area, promptly detecting signs of smuggling and illegally transporting goods across the border in order to develop plans to organize seize and handle; strengthen the coordination with competent forces in patrolling, controlling, arresting and handling violations in assigned areas.

In addition, the establishment of basic documents on the principle of strict assurance, complying with regulations and focusing on key geographical areas, products and objects; regularly review, evaluate and supplement basic documents.

Thanks to strong performance in establishing basic documents, the unit detected, arrested, and sanctioned administrative violations, prosecuted, and proposed to prosecute many people who smuggled and illegally transported goods across the border at the management areas such as: Huu Nghi border gate, Mong Cai, Kim Thanh, and Noi Bai international airport.

For example, from 2020 to July 2022, Unit 1 seized 214 cases of violation in the customs field, while the value of infringing goods is hundreds of billions of dong.

Furthermore, in 2020, 22 investigation and research dossiers were made, 24 investigation files were made, three specialized projects were established, one case was prosecuted, four cases were proposed to be prosecuted, and 135 arrests were made. The value of infringing goods was nearly VND 103.6 billion.

In 2021, 14 investigation and research documents were established to grasp the situation, 14 documents to search, two special cases were established, three cases were prosecuted and proposed to prosecute two cases; arrested 92 cases. The value of infringing goods was about VND 184 billion.

In the first seven months of 2022, three plans have been developed, one special project has been established, and 17 cases have been arrested. The value of infringing goods is estimated at VND30 billion, revenue collection from the sale of confiscated material evidence is more than VND64 billion. The unit has prosecuted four cases and transferred to another agency to prosecute two cases.
