Tax sector has made e-tax refund worth nearly VND 80 trillion

According to General Department of Taxation, the tax sector has accelerated the implementation and expansion of online tax declaration and electronic tax payment, electronic invoices with authentication codes, and electronic tax refunds to implement the objectives set in Resolution No. 19/NQ-CP (2017-2018), Resolution 02/ND-CP (year 2019-2021) and Resolution No. 36a/NQ-CP dated October 14, 2015 of the Government on e-Government.

The electronic tax declaration system has been deployed in 63 out of 63 provinces and cities and 100% of tax departments. In total, 838,787 enterprises are participating in using the electronic tax declaration service out of a total of 841,018 operating enterprises (reaching the rate of 99.7%). The number of electronic tax declaration dossiers received has hit 12,925,589 dossiers.

Regarding electronic tax payment, the General Department of Taxation has worked with 55 commercial banks (completed the connection of electronic tax payment with the General Department of Taxation) and 63 tax departments to deploy electronic tax payment services and communicate to encourage enterprises to participate in using the service. As of August 19, the number of businesses that have registered to use the service with the tax authority was 832,802 out of a total of 841,018 operating businesses, hitting 99%.

Notably, the number of enterprises that completed service registration with the banking system was 831,154 of a total of 841,018 operating enterprises (reaching 98.8%).

From January 1, 2021 until now, firms have made 2,425,472 e-tax payment transactions with the amount of more than VND 486,844 billion and $29.3 million (in excess of VND 668,3 billion).

Regarding electronic tax refund (e-tax refund), the Tax Department has implemented e-tax refunds in 63 provinces. Since the beginning of the year, 7,654 enterprises have participated in e-tax refunds, reaching a rate of 97.44%. Tax authorities have received 17,177 dossiers out of a total of 17,440 dossiers, reaching a rate of 98.49% and the system has processed and refunded 12,428 dossiers with a total refunded amount of more than VND 79,772 billion.

The General Department of Taxation continues to implement the pilot project of e-invoices. From January 1, 2021 to July 19, 2021, there were 172,800 invoices issued with codes. Total revenue achieved was more than VND 17,708 billion and the tax amount on the issued invoices was more than VND 1,552 billion.

The total number of administrative procedures in the tax field is 304, of which the provision of online public services at level 2 is 122 procedures, level 3 is 32 procedures, level 4 is 150 procedures. The total number of online public services at level 3 and 4 of the tax sector is 182 (reaching the rate of 59.9%).

To date, the General Department of Taxation has integrated 150 online public services at level 3 and 4 onto the National Public Service Portal. It is expected that this year, the General Department of Taxation will complete the integration of 100% of online public services at levels 3 and 4 into the National Public Service Portal.
