The General Department of Customs has given this instruction for imported fresh sturgeon.
Regarding goods preservation, the customs branch where the declaration is registered shall base on the Quarantine Registration Certificate or the Goods Transport Certificate or other documents issued by the quarantine agency to decide to allow enterprises to bring goods to storage according to the provisions of Article 32 of Circular 38/2015 of the Ministry of Finance dated March 25, 2015 as amended in Circular 39/2018 of the Ministry of Finance
Importers are solely responsible under the law for the transportation and preservation of goods and are allowed to put the goods into use after they are certified by the customs agency for customs clearance.
In order to ensure that the imported goods conform with the declared contents on the customs declaration and the issued CITES permit and are on the list of fisheries allowed to be traded in Vietnam; to strictly control imported sturgeon products at the request of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and solve the difficulties and problems arising, the Ministry of Finance sent an Official Dispatch 13797 dated December 2, 2021 to propose the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to guide the handling of problems arising from imported sturgeon.
The customs clearance for imported sturgeon shipments is done when specialized agencies give the conclusion that imported sturgeon shipments are eligible for import requirements, conform to declared contents in the customs declaration, issued CITES permit and are on the list of fisheries allowed to be traded in Vietnam
