Both the parent company and its subsidiaries were coerced
At the request of District 1 Tax Branch (HCMC Tax Department), on February 20, 2024, the Investment Customs Branch (HCMC Customs Department) issued a decision to apply coercive measures by stopping performing customs procedures for exported and imported goods of Danh Khoi Group Joint Stock Company (address: No. 3, Tran Nhat Duat Street, Tan Dinh Ward, District 1, Ho Chi Minh City).
According to the enforcement decision, Danh Khoi Group Joint Stock Company currently owes tax overdue for more than 90 days at the District 1 Tax Branch, with an amount of over VND97 billion.
On the same day, the Investment Customs Branch also issued an enforcement decision for Danh Khoi Holdings Investment Joint Stock Company. The reason why Danh Khoi Holdings Investment Joint Stock Company applied coercive measures is that it still owes over VND 57 billion in tax which is overdue for more than 90 days.
Both decisions are valid for 1 year from February 20, 2024. The decision will terminate when the tax debt is fully paid into the state budget.

Previously, on November 13, 2023, District 1 Tax Branch (HCM City) issued an enforcement decision by stopping the use of invoices for Danh Khoi Company Group Joint Stock Company. The enforcement of stopping the use of invoices officially took effect from 5:00 PM on November 13, 2023, lasting for 1 year.
Many businesses owe large amounts of tax
According to Investment Customs Branch (HCM City Customs), businesses that applied coercive measures are mainly businesses operating in the field of real estate and construction with huge tax amounts. Among them, many businesses owe taxes ranging from tens of billions to hundreds of billions of VND.
Typically, at the end of January 2024, Tan Hoang Minh Hotel Service Trading Company Limited (belonging to Tan Hoang Minh Group, address: 16th Floor, Vincom Center Building, 72 Le Thanh Ton, Ben Nghe Ward, District 1, HCM City, tax code: 0301002561) was also applied coercive measures at the request of the HCM City Tax Department.
Accordingly, Tan Hoang Minh Hotel Service Trading Co., Ltd. owes tax for more than 90 days from the deadline for payment according to regulations, with a total amount of nearly VND160 billion.
The enforcement decision is effective for 1 year from January 31, 2024. The decision will be terminated when the tax debt is fully paid into the state budget.
Previously, Transport and Industry Development Investment Joint Stock Company (89 Cach Mang Thang Tam, Ben Thanh Ward, District 1, HCM City; tax code: 0300482393) to implement the content of official dispatch No. 15667/CTTPHCM dated December 27, 2023 of HCM City Tax Department.
According to the enforcement decision, the Transport and Industry Development Investment Joint Stock Company owes overdue tax of over VND30.4 billion. The enforcement decision is valid for one year, from January 24, 2024; the decision will terminate when the tax debt is fully paid into the state budget.
According to the list of businesses owing tax debt for the second phase of 2023 announced by HCM City Tax Department at the end of December, as of October 31, there were nearly 200 businesses in the city that owed taxes with a total amount of VND 8,080 billion. The majority of them were businesses operating in the real estate sector.
