Seizing thousands of smuggled cosmetic products

At 1:45 PM on 16/10, after receiving information from local people about a man (about 35 years old) that was gathering smuggled goods in vacant ground near Tran Nhat Duat Street, zone 7, Hai Yen ward, Mong Cai City, Quang Ninh province, the integrated Control Team No.1 under Customs Enforcement Unit 1 deployed human force for inspection and handling.

At the scene, the working group discovered that Mr. Phan Trieu Linh transported 9 boxes of cosmetic products including: 3,050 tubes of make-up cream of OBIS brand, type of 8g/tube; 2,450 types of make-up cream of OBIS brand, type of 5g / tube; 80 tubes of cleanser of ALOE VERA brand, type 150ml / tube produced by foreign country (with total value is 50 million vnd).

In there, Mr. Phan Trieu Linh claimed that he was hired to transport the above shipment for a woman who is about 40 years old (unknown name and address) to Mong Cai bus station in order to take transportation cost of 200,000 vnd. Furthermore, Mr. Linh could not present invoices and documents in order to prove the legal origin of the goods.

The working group asked Mr. Phan Trieu Linh to bring all the goods to the headquarters of Integrated Control Team No. 1 to conduct physical inspection and handling in accordance with regulations.

By the end of 15/10, Customs Enforcement No.1 detected and processed 114 cases, confiscated infringing goods worth more than 3.9 billion vnd. In that, there were 113 cases of smuggling and transported illegally across the border; 1 case of intellectual property infringement.
