Seized 20 kg of wildlife from Laos to Vietnam

VCN - According to Ha Tinh Customs Department, Cau Treo International Border Gate Customs Branch has cooperated with border guard station to seize more than 20 kg of wildlife.

The exhibits

On 31st March 2017, during the supervision mission at the entrance of Cau Treo international border gate, the working group discovered and arrested one case of illegal transport of more than 20 kg of wild animals.

The above shipment is stored in 2 boxes, including an individual animal weighing 10 kg (suspected as Deer), an animal weighing 1.5 kg (suspected as Atherurus macrourus), 5 individuals animals with a total weight of 9 kg (suspected as Weasel).

Those animals have died and were harvested. The entire shipment was transported by Mr. Duong Van Nam, a staff member of a bus line drove a vehicle with license plate U2-6789 from Laos to Vietnam.

Currently, Cau Treo International Border Gate Customs Branch has established the dossier of the case and handed over to the competent agency for handling according to regulations.
