Quang Ninh Customs seizes 2,000 lites of undocumented oil
Customs force inspects the ship carrying infringing oil. |
The team inspected and detected a wood ship without license plate driven by D. X. T at Hon Gac area of Ha Long sea area transporting 2,000 litres of DO oil without any documents or invoice.
At the Customs office, T. admitted the violation and said that he bought the oil from an oil ship at Hon Rua area with a low price to resell for a profit.
The teams made a report and transferred the case to the People's Committee of Ha Long City for handling.
On August 3, the local government issued Decision 362 imposing a fine of VND17 million on D.X.T for trading in goods of unknown origin; and seized all the infringing goods.
Due to the unpredictable development of Covid-19 pandemic, smuggling, trade fraud and trading in banned goods and goods infringing intellectual property rights is more complex.
Recently, the price of petroleum products in the country is on an upward trend.
The volume of ships and boats is huge in the Northeast Sea where smugglers illegally transship trade and transport petroleum products.
Smugglers have remodelled ships, used those without license plate or fake license plate to trade, or hire vehicles to transport them illegally or use invoices of some service ships to outsmart authorities.
