Proactively control counterfeit goods and infringing intellectual property rights

The General Department of Vietnam Customs (GDVC) requested relevant units to proactively detect methods and tricks in import, export, transportation and transit activities of fake goods, counterfeit goods on intellectual property, and infringing intellectual property rights. Furthermore, to investigate, verify and clarify each violation, the nature and level of aggravating and mitigating circumstances, subjective and objective factors, causes, consequences, motives and purposes of each individual, and relevant organizations to identify administrative violation or criminal violation.

Furthermore, investigating, verifying and clarifying each act of producing and trading counterfeit goods in the customs field; acts of producing, importing, trading, transporting or storing for sale goods counterfeiting marks or geographical indications to export to earn illicit profits; producing, importing, trading, transporting, storing for sale stamps, articles bearing fake marks or geographical indications; infringing upon the rights to trademarks, geographical indications, trade names and industrial designs of individuals and organizations engaged in export and import activities to actively fight effectively and strictly handle them before the law.

Moreover, advising and proposing to transfer to police agency to verify and clarify the cases related to the crime of manufacturing, trading in fake goods and infringing upon industrial property rights for strict handling following the law.

Through the struggle, loopholes in mechanisms and policies were discovered to advise leaders at all levels to promptly supplement and amend to protect domestic production and Vietnamese brands.

The GDVC requires that the implementation of the Plan must comply with the provisions of the law, ensure trade facilitation and not hinder import and export activities.
