Nearly 800,000 face masks illegally exported through Noi Bai International Airport
A shipment of smuggled face masks |
By the evening of March 31, the competent forces continued to conduct inspection and count the shipment of nearly 800,000 surgical masks.
According to initial information, the owners of the above goods were three companies in Hanoi. They opened declarations on March 30, 2020 and declared goods were yoga mats and t-shirts for adults.
By applying professional skills, customs officials of Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch detected many suspicious signs in the export shipment, so on 31 March, the Noi Bai International Airport Customs Branch issued decisions to stop goods and take them to supervision area due to suspecting violation of customs declaration relating to the above shipment. They then conducted physical inspection on the shipment.
A quick inspection of the shipment showed that goods were all surgical masks.
Below is a picture of the shipment seized by Noi Bai Customs force on the afternoon of March 31. Customs News will continue to provide updates on this case.
