Mobile phones mainly exported by air

According to the statistics of exports and imports goods by the type of transport which was done for the first time by the General Department of Customs (published on December 1st 2016, regarding the means of transport in import and export operation 2015), there are 3 main types of transport to export Vietnamese commodities to the international market ie. by land, sea and air. In particular, transport by land and sea don't predominates over other types.
Exported goods that are transported by air, are predominantly electronic products such as mobile phones and computers.

The statistics of the General Department of Customs showed that, in 2015, the largest exported goods were mobile phones with a total value is $US 30,176 billion. In that, the number of mobile phones and components exported by air reached $US 29,313 billion, accounting for over 97% of the total value of this item. The rest were exported by land, sea and other types of transport.
Other items exported by air are computers, electronic products and components. Of $US 15,609 billion of total export value of this items in 2015, export by air achieved nearly $US 10 billion, accounting for 64%. Next is sea that reached nearly $US 5.5 billion, more than 35.2%.
Besides that, cameras, and movie cameras were also exported to foreign markets mainly by air with the total value of nearly $US 2.9 billion, accounting for 95.5% of total export value of this item in 2015. Meanwhile, other main items such as textiles, footwear, seafood, are mainly transported by sea. In that, exported textiles with a turnover of $US 20,247 billion, accounted for nearly 89% of total export turnover of textiles in 2015. For footwear, in the total export value of $US 12 billion in 2015, 96% was transported by sea (equivalent to $US 11,508 billion).
Looking to 46 items counted by the General Department of Customs, transport by land is only of benefit in exporting some less valuable items, notably vegetables. In the total export turnover of $US 1,841 billion of vegetables in 2015, there was $US 966 million exported via land, accounting for nearly 52.5%; sea reached $US 833 million, accounting for 45.3%; by air was $US 42 million, accounting for about 2.2%, etc.
According to the statistics of the Customs IT and Statistics Department (General Department of Customs), type of transports are classified as: Roads include highways, railways and other means of transport on the road; Waterways including sea and inland waterways; Other means of transport includes: line, combined transport and not enough basis to determine exactly, etc.
The statistics of exports and imports that divide into small groups by mode of transport is the effort of the General Department of Customs in order to better meet the increased demand of using statistics of citizens, enterprises and other objects of interest.
