Ministries are requested to report on the reduction of specialized lists and business conditions

The General Department of Customs - the Standing Office of the National Steering Committee for the ASEAN Single Window, the National Single Window and Trade Facilitation has sent a document to 12 ministries and sectors to request a report on the reduction of specialized lists and business conditions.
Accordingly, the General Department of Customs requested the ministries and sectors to base their report on statistical results from the General Department of Customs and their management requirements to review and propose a reduction and simplification of 50% of lists of commodities and administrative procedures related to specialized management and inspection under their management. It is required to specify the roadmap and complete the abolishment, amendment and supplement of legal documents related to specialized management of imports and exports.
For the list of commodities and procedures proposed to be retained, the ministries and sectors should clearly state the necessities and announce full standards or criteria and inspection methods matching with each commodity subject to specialized inspection (except special goods which are not managed according to standards, criteria or inspection methods).
Earlier, at a meeting with ministries and sectors on 3 April 2018, Deputy Prime Minister Vuong Dinh Hue directed the relevant ministries and sectors to follow Government’s Resolution No. 01 / NQ-CP dated 1st January 2018 and Notice No. 50 / TB-VPCP of the Government Office announcing the conclusion of the Deputy Prime Minister stated at the third meeting of the National Steering Committee for ASEAN Single Window, National Single Window and Trade Facilitation.

Accordingly, ensuring the 2018 target of comprehensive reform of specialized inspection activities; reviewing, reducing, and simplifying 50% of the list of commodities and procedures of specialized inspection. In 2018, terminating the status that there is a list of commodities subject to specialized inspection but there are no regulations on standards, criteria or inspection methods (except for specific goods).
