On May 21, through discussion with reporters, Director General of the General Department of Market Management Tran Huu Linh said:

“After receiving the document of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development on strengthening the inspection and control of crawfish, right in the afternoon of May 20, the General Department of Market Management sent an express document to the Department of Market Management in order to strengthen the inspection and control of the market for this item.”

Linh directed the market management force to mobilise forces to strengthen the inspection and control of crawfish, especially in border areas with China and restaurants and shops selling this product to minimise the consumption and trade of crawfish.

Besides that, the Director General of the General Department of Market Management requested the online business monitoring department to evaluate the consumption and sales of crawfish of China. At the same time, they should work with competent units to detect and control the warehouses and shops that are being sold crawfish on the internet.

In addition, the General Department of Market Management will pay attention to the transportation route in the direction of Lang Son, Quang Ninh, and Lao Cai for strict control, especially the border with China, routes connecting to the big city like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The Department of Market Management will strengthen the inspection more strictly on this item.
