Long An seize nearly 500,000 packs of smuggled cigarettes in 2 months

In particular, in February, the competent force has seized 236,137 packs of smuggled foreign cigarette of all kinds.

The Steering Committee 389 of Long An said that, it seems like the smuggling activities at the province border line in February has been controlled, but it still occurs complicatedly. The main imported items for smuggling besides cigarettes are wines. The smuggling operation mainly focuses on the border of Duc Hue District and area of Kien Tuong town.

The smugglers takes advantage of the trails, open road, and under the cover of darkness to divide goods into small packages, carry and cross the border, then using motorboats, cars and running at high speed into the inland for consumption. When operating, the offenders always send a person to watching the anti-smuggling force and watch the route until it is clear and safe for transporting smuggled goods.
