Lang Son: Over 1,400 enterprises registered accounts on digital border gate platform

VCN – After one year of launching the digital border gate platform, People's Committee of Lang Son province has upgraded 25 times to match the situation at the border gate. Until now, the digital border gate platform has operated stably. Most businesses are proficient in declaring information online. Furthermore, over 1,4000 enterprises registered accounts on digital border gate platform.

People's Committee of Lang Son Province evaluated that, after one year of being put into operation (from February 21, 2022) at Huu Nghi international border gate and Tan Thanh border gate, the digital border gate platform has been effectively promoted, 100% of enterprises declared online before the vehicle arrives at the border gate and processed on this platform (including imported and exported vehicles).

The statistics showed that information declared online on the digital border gate platform reached 238,713 vehicles. In particular, 30,401 vehicles were declared for leaving the country and 101,412 vehicles declared for entering the country at Huu Nghi international border gate; at Tan Thanh border gate, there were 62,000 vehicles declared for leaving the country and 44,900 vehicles declared for entering the country.

The People's Committee of Lang Son province said that businesses only had to declare information once and could declare it from any location and time when using the digital border gate platform. The time to declare information of goods only took 2 - 5 minutes. During the pilot implementation, Lang Son province issued many guidance documents and requirements related to the digital border gate platform to facilitate clearance activities of import and export goods.

In particular, to gradually improve and completely overcome the limitations, shortcomings and obstacles in deploying digital border gates, Lang Son province has requested the consulting unit to continuously upgrade (25 times) to match the actual situation at the border gate. Accordingly, up to now, the digital border gate platform has run stably. Most businesses are proficient in declaring information online, and more than 1,400 businesses have registered accounts on the digital border gate platform.

In addition, to support import-export enterprises and competent forces, the People's Committee of Lang Son province has directed the Department of Information and Communications to set up seven zalo groups with more than 1,000 members to guide the use and receive information, reflections, problems and recommendations of enterprises and competent forces arising in the use of the digital border gate platform to overcome and handle arising problems promptly.

According to the People's Committee of Lang Son province, on average, the support staff received about 300 feedbacks during the pilot implementation. However, up to now, the reported information has gradually decreased, which is only more than 20 feedbacks of businesses and competent forces daily. In particular, the information reflected is mainly related to incorrect declaration of the enterprise.

The digital border gate platform helps to promote administrative procedure reform, saving time, effort and costs for agencies, units, organizations and individuals involved in import-export activities; it helps to make transparent, limit negatives, improve the effectiveness and efficiency of state management in import-export activities; ensuring the continuity of activities at the border gate, contributing to limiting the spread of Covid-19 virus in the context of Covid-19 pandemic; contribute to modernizing the border gate area, promoting international integration.

The People's Committee of Lang Son province said that the initial effective implementation of the digital transformation of Huu Nghi and Tan Thanh border gates in Lang Son province would be a stepping stone to form a model of digital border gates in the whole country. Then, it could be replicated and applied to all border gates, contributing to forming a national digital gate system, serving the state management of the Government, localities and competent forces in border areas.

With the results and benefits of the digital border gate platform, Lang Son province has been awarded Vietsolutions 2022 for excellent local digital transformation. In addition, Lang Son province was honored to be one of seven authorities and units in the country to win the "Excellent digital transformation state agency" award.
