According to the leader of the General Department of Vietnam Customs, the development of the Handbook on National Single Window and ASEAN Single Window is to raise awareness and promote information dissemination and provision in a timely fashion and sufficiently on the National Single Window to people and businesses.

As an active member of ASEAN, after a preparation process with great effort, the first administrative procedure was implemented through the National Single Window in November 2014. Currently, 11 ministries and sectors have joined the implementation of 38 administrative procedures on the National Single Window with the participation of more than 11,000 enterprises. The implementation of the National Single Window has brought many benefits to enterprises and improved the efficiency of State management.

In the coming time, the implementation of the NSW will be expanded widely and deeply, requiring further participation, determination, and responsibility of people, businesses and relevant ministries and sectors. Thereby, it contributes to raising awareness and providing basic information on the NSW to the business community and relevant ministries and sectors on the NSW. The General Department of Vietnam Customs as the role of the Standing agency develops the handbook on the NSW and the ASW to provide the most basic information relating to the implementation of the NSW, ASW to relevant ministries and sectors to refer, use and serve effectively in the implementation of the NSW and ASW.

The contents of the handbook are divided into two parts: Part 1 introduces the NSW and ASW (including: History of Establishment, concept of NSW and ASW, connection model of the NSW and ASW, process of implementing administrative procedures through the NSW and ASW, organization structure and apparatus of implementation NSW and ASW, benefits of implementing the NSW and ASW).

Part 2 introduces the results and plans in the coming time (Results of the implementation of the NSW and ASW, target of implementing the NSW and ASW by 2020, roadmap of implementing administrative procedures by 2020, what enterprises should do to implement the NSW, what ministries and sectors should do to implement the NSW and the support of the General Department of Vietnam Customs).

Especially, there is a section in this handbook on the support of the General Department of Vietnam Customs. Specifically: organizing regular training courses and guiding people and enterprises on the implementation of administrative procedures on the NSW portal.
