Import and export turnover increases to US$ 51 billion

In June, Vietnam’s total import and export turnover declined 1.3% month-on-month to US$ 64.12 billion.

The export turnover in June increased 4.3% to US$ 33.66 billion compared with the previous month; the import turnover dropped 6.9% to US$ 30.46 billion.

In June, the country had a trade surplus of US$ 3.2 billion.

Accumulated in the first 6 months of the year, the country's total trade in goods rose 16% to US$ 369.62 billion compared with the same period in the previous year.

Of which, exports increased 14.9% to US$ 190.73 billion.

By the end of June, five export product groups achieved the turnover of US$10 billion or more, including: computers, electronic products and components at US$ 33.67 billion up 31.5%; phones and components at US$27.15 billion, up 11%; machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts at US$ 23.16 billion, up 17.3%; textile and garment at US$16.52 billion, up 4.6%; footwear at US$10.72 billion, up 8.8%.

By the end of June, imports grew 17.3% to US$ 178.88 billion year-on-year.

Two groups of imported goods reached a turnover of tens of billions of dollars, including computers, electronic products and components at US$49.32 billion, up 27.9%; machinery, equipment, tools, and spare parts at US$22.4 billion, up 15.1%.

By the end of June, Vietnam's trade balance of goods had a surplus of US$11.85 billion.
