Import and export turnover in 11 months falls US$ 18 billion: HCM City Customs

According to HCM City Customs Department, although the import and export turnover across HCM City Customs Department in November increased, it still plunged year-on-year.
Accordingly, the import and export turnover in the month reached about US$7.77 billion while it recorded about US$ 9 million in the same period in the previous year.
As of November 27, the total trade in goods dropped 14.96% to US$106.75 billion compared with the last year.
The import turnover fell 18.73% to US$ 55.88 billion; the export turnover dropped 10.4% to US$50.87 billion.
As of November 27, the trade deficit was US$5.01 billion.
A sharp decline in import and export goods has affected the revenue results of the HCM City Customs Department. As of November 27, the Department collected over VND110,225 billion, meeting 75.60% of the target (145,800 billion VND); down 13.81% over the same period in 2022, or an absolute decrease of VND17,665.6 billion.
HCM City Customs Department estimates that the department’s revenue for the whole year is estimated to decrease by 15.41% or to VND121,000 billion compared to 2022, meeting 82.99% of the ordinance target.
