Hai Phong Customs collects and pays nearly VND5 billion to the state budget in the peak months of anti-smuggling

Rhino horns are seized by Hai Phong Customs during the peak season.

According to Hai Phong Customs, on the occasion of the Lunar New Year, the number of administrative violations handled was 408 cases. The main administrative violations handled by Hai Phong Customs Department are administrative violations in customs procedures such as: declaring and submitting dossiers on time, without permits, not enough conditions; false declarations or declaring the wrong name of the goods.

The total amount of monetary penalties for administrative violations is more than VND4.8 billion. Accordingly, the Advisory Department of the Chairman of Hai Phong City People's Committee sanctioned one case with an amount of VND91 million; the Director of Hai Phong Customs Department issued five sanctioning decisions, with a total amount of nearly VND2 billion and the branches sanctioned 402 cases, with a total amount of more than VND2.7 billion.

In addition, Hai Phong Customs handled three cases related to smuggling, illegal transportation of goods across the border, trading in counterfeit goods, and infringing evidence that were rhino horn, household appliances, and cosmetics.
