Gia Lai – Kon Tum Customs coordinate to stop heroin crossing border

VCN - After 4 months of tracking and collecting information, Gia Lai - Kon Tum Customs Department coordinated with Division 9, Police Department of drugs investigation (C47) - Ministry of Public Security in Da Nang to detect and arrest drugs trafficker across a border.

Specifically, through the work of collecting, investigating and researching the situation in the area of Bo Y international border gate (Ngoc Hoi district, Kon Tum province), Customs Enforcement Unit, Gia Lai - Kon Tum Customs Department discovered Tran Van Ninh (was born in 1986, lives in Ngoc Hoi, Kon Tum) has signs of buying and transporting drugs from Laos to Vietnam then reselling in the area.

Through the process of tracking shows that this person frequently crosses border gate by trail, the shortcut of side gate. Consequently, the Customs Enforcement Unit put this person on suspicion and tracking in February 2017. At the same time, the unit also collaborated with C47 to support for verification. As a result, C47 identified that Tran Van Ninh has purchased and sold in Ngoc Hoi district.

On 26/6, after receiving information that Tran Van Ninh would conduct a transaction in Plei Kan town, Ngoc Hoi district, Kon Tum province, Customs Enforcement Unit and C47 deployed force and planned to arrest.

As a result, the working group arrested 2 people Pham Van Hoi and Pham Duy Quang together in Cao Son, Sa Loong, Ngoc Hoi and Kon Tum villages. When they were arrested, the two were taking a paper box at a roadside. Inside the box, there were 3 nylon packs containing a white substance with a total weight of 238.55 grams. Those packs are identified as ice. The two persons claimed that they came to that place to get this box for Tran Van Ninh.

Meanwhile, information reconnaissance reported that Tran Van Ninh has fled to Nghe An. On 30/6, when he returned to Gia Lai, C47 has ambushed and arrested him. It is known that this object has been convicted of drug trafficking.

Currently, C47 is coordinating with Ngoc Hoi district police to handle the case in accordance with regulations.
