According to the General Department of Vietnam Customs, to remove difficulties for businesses that have goods stored in bonded warehouses, duty-free shops, warehouses of duty-free sales enterprises beyond the storage deadline in Vietnam as per the Customs Law due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, on December 8 the Standing Committee of the 15th National Assembly approved Resolution 10/2021/UBTVQH15 extending the storage deadline for these goods to meet the requirements of Covid-19 prevention and control.
The country’s top customs agency cites Article 1 of the Resolution as saying that goods stored in duty-free shops, warehouses of duty-free sales enterprises, and bonded warehouses beyond the storage deadline as per regulations in Article 47 and 61 of the Customs Law and since April 1, 2020 under the Prime Minister's Decision 447/QD-TTg dated April 1, 2020, will continue to be stored no later than 12 months after the date of announcement of the end of the pandemic (extension procedures are not required).
Goods deposited in bonded warehouse subject to extension of the storage deadline as per Article 1 must be exported across international border gates or main border gates.
