According to statistics released by the General Department of Customs on September 21, six enterprises in August exported 16.2 million medical masks, up 2.9 times from July 2022.

Previously, in July, the volume of exported medical masks reached 5.6 million, down 18.8% from June 2022.

This is the second month since the beginning of the year that the export of medical masks has reached less than 10 million (June also reached only 6.9 million).

In terms of the decline, this is the fourth consecutive month (since April) when medical masks' exports declined.

Thus, in the first eight months of the year, the country exported 105.1 million medical masks, of which January exported the highest volume of 22.2 million units.

In 2021, Vietnamese enterprises exported more than 453 million medical masks. However, there was no month that the exports of medical masks reached 65 million units or more, much lower than the average of 2020.

After the application period for licensing for medical mask exports to serve the domestic Covid-19 pandemic prevention and control according to the Government's Resolution 20/NQ-CP dated February 28, 2020, exports of this item have been resumed normal from May 2020 according to Resolution 60/NQ-CP dated April 29, 2020, of the Government.
